Held at SMKN 15 Bandung, Let’s Invest Girls, supported by VMCS Advisory Indonesia, conducted a workshop titled “The Power from Within: Financial Literacy, Leadership & Communications” on September 13, 2024, attended by 50 female students. The event aimed to provide fundamental knowledge on financial management, the importance of saving, investing, and long-term financial planning for the younger generation, especially young women.

This workshop is part of Let’s Invest Girls’ ongoing educational program, an initiative dedicated to empowering young women to be better prepared for future financial challenges. Similar activities are expected to be held in more schools, ensuring that more female students gain sufficient knowledge to manage their finances wisely.
“Through this workshop, we hope to instill a strong understanding among young women about the importance of financial literacy in daily life. It is a crucial skill that will help them achieve financial independence in the future,” said Usep Aceng, S.Pd, M.T., Vice Principal for Student Affairs at SMKN 15 Bandung.
In addition to fundamental financial concepts, participants engaged in interactive sessions where they could ask questions and explore different types of financial expenses relevant to teenagers. The students responded enthusiastically, with many inquiries about saving strategies and how to start investing early. This event was not just about providing knowledge but also inspiring young women to start thinking about their financial future as early as possible.

The workshop was attended not only by students of SMKN 15 Bandung but also by Tiwi Dewanti Kartadibrata, S.Pd., M.M.Pd., Public Relations Staff of SMKN 15, Widad Farid Dziab, S.Psi., Psychologist from the Indocompetence team, Dewi Rahmadania, M.Pd., from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) team, and, of course, Elvera N. Makki, the initiator of Let’s Invest Girls (LIG).

One of the workshop participants, Dinda Puspasari, an 11th-grade student at SMKN 15 Bandung, shared that she found the workshop extremely helpful, as she had never received formal financial education before. Through this session, she gained a better understanding of how to manage her monthly allowance and start investing.
With a strong spirit of change, Let’s Invest Girls is committed to reaching more young women across Indonesia, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to navigate an increasingly complex financial world.
