After the training and interactive sessions on social media and public speaking with the staff of the Office of International Affairs, Cooperation, and Culture (KUIKK) of Trisakti University.

Jakarta, August 12, 2025 – VMCS Advisory Indonesia held a Social Media and Public Speaking Training at the Office of International Affairs, Cooperation, and Culture (KUIKK), Trisakti University. This program was designed to strengthen digital communication capacity and public speaking skills key elements in building a positive image and expanding the university’s international network.

The training was led by Elvera N. Makki, CEO of VMCS Advisory, a communication and social impact practitioner with 25 years of experience across global companies and organizations. The sessions covered strategies for leveraging social media in higher education, the role of social media as a bridge between the university, students, alumni, and international partners, as well as how to build a global reputation through relevant and high-quality content. Participants also learned the principles of creating engaging content from using an impactful hook within the first three seconds, applying human-centered storytelling, to utilizing creative formats such as Reels, carousels, and live sessions to boost engagement.

An interactive discussion session on planning effective digital campaigns, while also providing participants with insights into customer service excellence in the academic world.

In addition, the training addressed effective digital campaign planning, including hashtag optimization, editorial planning, and the use of analytics tools such as Instagram Insights and Google Analytics to track performance. Another session emphasized powerful and inclusive public speaking speaking with confidence while maintaining inclusive language and being mindful of the cultural sensitivities of diverse audiences. Participants also gained insights into customer service excellence in academia, covering professional first impressions, cross-cultural hospitality, and creating memorable moments that can strengthen institutional reputation.

Participants engaged in roleplay to address situations involving complaints, accompanied by the application of effective and professional communication techniques.

“In today’s global era, social media and public speaking are no longer just supplementary skills; they are core strategies for building reputation and fostering international collaboration. This training helps participants understand not only the techniques, but also effective and sustainable communication strategies,” said Elvera N. Makki, Founder & CEO of VMCS Advisory Indonesia.

Through interactive learning methods such as discussions, case studies, mini labs, and role plays, participants not only gained theoretical knowledge but also became ready to apply it directly in the university’s communication and promotional activities. With this training, KUIKK Trisakti University is expected to be better equipped to compete on the global stage both through digital media and face-to-face interactions by delivering professional, inclusive, and impactful communication.
