DHL Express Strengthens Corporate Reputation Through Media Handling Training with VMCS Advisory

After completing media-handling training across various scenarios and interview situations, together with the DHL Express leadership team.
As part of the Media Handling Training organized by DHL, VMCS Advisory was tasked with contributing as a trainer. This training was designed to strengthen participants’ communication skills when interacting with the media, especially during crisis situations or when facing critical questions that require quick, accurate, and reputation-conscious responses.
This training was attended by senior leaders of DHL Express and their teams, creating a discussion environment rich in perspectives. The presence of these leaders added significant value, as each topic was connected to the operational experiences they encounter on a daily basis.
During the theoretical segment, VMCS Advisory explained the current media landscape, how journalists work, and the importance of crafting key messages aligned with the company’s identity and values. Participants were also guided on maintaining narrative consistency when the company is under public scrutiny.
The practical segment became one of the most engaging parts of the training. Participants took on the role of spokesperson, allowing them to directly experience the rhythm and pressure of facing the media. The simulations were conducted in three different formats: a doorstop interview that reflected situations where journalists approach with spontaneous questions; a media briefing that trained participants to deliver official statements with clear structure; and a 1-on-1 interview that provided experience in responding to deeper, more intense questioning. These exercises helped participants learn how to stay composed while delivering messages that are relevant and consistent.
Through this training for the company’s leaders, DHL Express ensures that their communication skills continue to shine and are well-equipped to navigate the ever-evolving media landscape. This program also serves as a concrete step to ensure that every spokesperson can represent the company’s image with the highest level of professionalism.
