In commemoration of Earth Day, PZ Cussons launched its newest product, Cussons Baby Wipes Pure and Gentlewhich is the first baby product with an ecolabel certificate from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) on Wednesday (10/05/2023) at The Hermitage Hotel, Jakarta.

This education is intended for Posyandu mothers to develop clean and healthy living habits and preserve the environment by reducing plastic use and wisely managing waste segregation.”

Regarding the launch of the new product, Riza Arief Rahman, Head of Marketing, PZ Cussons Indonesia explained, “With passion and belief in providing the best for mothers, children and nature, Cussons Baby Wipes Pure and Gentle are environmentally friendly and not only can decompose naturally, but also comes with superior quality, made from 100% natural fiber, certified organic olive oil, purified water sources, 0% alcohol, coloring, and fragrances.”

Riza explained other advantages, “This product also answers the challenges of sensitive baby skin by being hypoallergenic, the size of the wipes is wider and thicker, and 3x cleaner than wet wipes in general.”

At the same event, Vinda Damayanti, Director of Waste Reduction of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), appreciated PZ Cussons for the efforts to sustain the environment, which is in line with the mandate of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number P.75 of 2019 concerning the Roadmap for Waste Reduction by Producers (Permen LHK P.75/ 2019).

Parthesh Dave, Head of Packaging Asia, PZ Cussons, also expressed the results of PZ Cussons efforts to strive for sustainability. “PZ Cussons succeeded in reducing plastic use by up to 92% in Cussons Baby Gift Boxes, reducing plastic use by 16% from wet tissue packaging, and reducing plastic use by 11% in the packaging(doys plastic reduction).”

“We carefully evaluate each product variant in various categories, review new sizes and conduct trials at the factory to fully validate these new sizes from various aspects so that they have a more positive impact and are more environmentally friendly.” continued Dave.

PZ Cussons is also working with Alfamart to invite the wider community to be involved in education, counseling, and assistance regarding plastic and waste sorting at 96 Posyandu points in Indonesia in the next three months. “We are collaborating with cadres and the Posyandu community, which reaches up to 10.000 mothers to work together to save the earth, starting from the smallest institution, that’s home,” explained Riza.
